Love this! Definite spiritual truth. There is a great gift in rejection. As spiritual beings having a physical experience we have Ego to help protect and guide us. However Ego is still quite primitive. Ego keeps us attached to the physical and keeps us safe by playing small and seeking to fit into societal norms. Buddha shared that all of human suffering is because of attachment. We attach to the value of money, big homes, fast cars, the opinion of others, the title, the grade, the illusion of perfection and the relationship. Attachment and expectation cause great heartache. The truth is that attachment and expectation have nothing to do with another person…has everything to do with deep seated personal beliefs and the essence of relationship with self. It’s never about someone else, even when it comes to being rejected. Within the pain of rejection you have a choice – either to find the blessing of finding your authentic self or chosing to focus on the pain and anger. It’s your choice. It always is. And within that choice is what will grow and mirror to you in your life. This month I wrote a poem on the lesson of rejection in A Drop of Loving Kindness for www.mindfulnessmothers.com. By practicing self reflection and silence I found the strength to let go. Namaste and May you find peace and joy through the freedom of rejection.
